I know the housing market is tough, but my mother-in-law recently experienced a real estate agent showing the worst side of the business. My father-in-law helped build their home 52 years ago, and they have lived there ever since. They never once received any calls about selling their house in all that time, until recently - the day after my father-in-law's obituary was in the newspaper. My mother-in-law, while dealing with her grief over her loss, received a phone call from a Tacoma-area John L. Scott agent telling her he would be happy to sell her house for her. She said no and hung up, but it was upsetting to receive such a cold-hearted call. I am certain this is not standard procedure for John L. Scott or any other realty. I have to believe that, being unwilling to imagine there are many more ambulance-chasers out there waiting to prey on the next vulnerable person. I hope someone in the realty business might recognize this person for their deplorable tactics and let them know what a terrible image they are portraying of their business, not to mention being absolutely predatory and heartless. Whether this is standard procedure or not, I know that none of the family will be interested in using John L. Scott to sell a house. It's too bad that one despicable agent's poor decision can cast a pall on an entire company.
